  Welcome to Bay Metro.

We are pleased you have chosen BMOA as
 your officiating association of choice.

Mission

BMOA is an officials association dedicated to providing the highest quality sports officials to the schools we serve. We ensure this by being recognized by the Michigan High School Athletic Association as an approved officials association. This status is only given to officials associations who demonstrate a commitment to training their officials and adhering to the guidelines established by the MHSAA.

As a new official there are a number of things you must do in order to become a registered official with the MHSAA and a member in good standing with BMOA.

You must contact the MHSAA at 517 332 5046 or click the link to the right. You will be required to pass a written test and submit it to the MHSAA. The test will be sent to you along with your rulebook for the sports you wish to officiate; this of course helps a new official pass their test. Once you have passed your test, you will need to register with MHSAA and pay the proper fees. MHSAA fees are $20 per sport officiated and a $20 administrative fee.

The above steps register you with the MHSAA. Please do not confuse this with registering with BMOA. We are separate organizations. BMOA dues are $15 per sport you wish to officiate and a $15 association fee. These fees are due and payable each year dependent upon the sports you officiate. In order to register with BMOA, and be a member in good standing, please follow these simple steps:
Click here and print these forms: Contract & Registration Forms
Both these forms must be completed, signed and mailed with your association dues to:
Mark Gentle, 100 Marshall,  Essexville,  MI  48732
The appropriate fees must accompany the registration form. Schedules are not given to officials who have not paid their dues. Click the Dues tab to pay online.
It is your responsibility to contact the assigner for the sports you are officiating. Failure to do so may result in you not receiving a schedule.
The assignors and their phone numbers are listed below.
You must attend a minimum of two of the following; rules meetings, a camp, present at a rules meeting or make arrangements with your assignor for another way to comply with the intent of the rule.
Again, thank you for choosing Bay Metro Officials Association.
