RE: Dress Code Policy

All Bay Metro Officials Association Members:

At the November 16, 2008 BMOA Board of Directors Meeting, the Board addressed the issue of dress code for our association. The policy adopted by our BOD, and unanimously approved, was intended to set a baseline standard of dress code for officials assigned to games through BMOA.

The dress code policy was created set a high standard of professionalism for all of Bay Metro officials when arriving at the high schools we serve.

The dress code is intended for officials who work Football, Volleyball, and Basketball. Baseball and Softball umpires are exempt due to dressing out of the car prior to contests.

The following list of clothing items, although not all inclusive, that should not be worn to and from assignments from BMOA includes blue jeans, shorts, t-shirts, tennis shoes, sweat shirts, sweat pants, open toe shoes, flip flops, and baseball hats. The respective sport assignors are expected to enforce the policy, but will rely on help from all officials to report anything worn by an official that may not be in good taste or in the spirit of this dress code policy.

Any required review or disciplinary action will be taken to the BMOA Board for review.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your assignor or anyone on the current BMOA Board of Directors.

Sincerely,

Bruce Moore
Secretary
