The Kenny VanSlyke Award is a recognitional award that is given to a school that is serviced by the Bay Metro Officials Association. The award was created after fellow referee gave the ultimate sacrifice serving his country with the Marine Forces Reserve's 1^st Battalion, 24^th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Saginaw, Michigan in Iraq in 2007.

The award consists of a $500 post-secondary educational scholarship given to any/multiple athlete chosen by the school.
